Season's greetings

Another season already half way through with the first and second XIs in second place but with the 3s and ladies facing a difficult second half of the season to avoid the drop.

Nevertheless this has to be one of the most promising seasons for years with the numbers in the club not only increasing but the average age decreasing.

The school v club match returns at 14.30 on the 3rd January so a big thank you to all who have made it happen. There is a very good chance that more players will join in the early part of 2009 so onwards and upwards. Prmotion for the one's and staving off relegation for the 3s and ladies are priorities with the seconds having an outside chance of promotion if results go their way.

Thank you to all the skippers and committee members for the hard work that not only goes unnoticed by most but unappreciated by the majority too.

Best wishes for the Christmas and New Year break and see you all in 2009.

Another league season draws to its mid season break with once again mixed fortunes amongst our teams last weekend. Deservedly the 4ths had the best result having relocated to the school at the 11th hour whilst the 1sts slipped up in a big game again.

Immediately after thebreak we have thelong awaited school v club game with Betty Loveland and Tony coming along to present the Loveland Bowl for the first of wnat we hope is many times.

The social on the 6th December was well attended and enjoyed by all who were there but please note the up coming socials in the New Year.

Pride of place

Pride of place this week goes to the 4ths and the ladies who between them solved a potentially embarrassing situation of having no slot for the ladies game against the school girl's team at TD. The 4ths graciously agreed to make the trip to the school for the home game. From a club perspective this is tremendous and shows that we are now a good solid club.

The seconds remain unbeaten with the thumping win against third placed Barnes and the 1s stay top of the tree with our vanquishers HAC repeating the feat against Wanderers last week.

Hopefully see a good nmber of oyu at the club on Saturday evening

Knappy.
