One month into the league season and at last a decent set of results through the club. The 1st XI are 3 points clear with Merton losing and with our beating UCL. The match against UCL doubled up as a Surrey Cup match and so we are now further in the cup than for many years.

The facilities are settling in well with the second of the new dug outs and the goals ready to be erected.

The 2s picked up their first win of the season and the 3rds had a result of sorts with their deducted point being re credited. The ladies continue their good start to the season.

Subs are still a thorny issue and those of who have not paid must please do so to avoid a knocking on your door by the committee.

The first social is nearly upon us - 3rd November fire works - so hopefully as many of you as possible can come along.

Thank you Martin for revealing my post plastic surgery image ahead of my first visit to TD this season.

A mixed bag of results that I have seen so far with the one's winning courtesy of goal machine Pies, Rippers first league goal of his fledgling OC career and the skipper. The result was all the more important having regard to the number of unavailabilities for various reasons - 7 in all - that had an impact on the twos who went down to a narrow defeat. This year will be a squad season for all the teams and so in a way it is good to win at the top knowing the numbers of players will swell. Our victors in the play offs - Yateley - lost 5 - 2 to OWs who we beat comfortably at TD last season but we wish both teams well in their new league. A winning start to the laegue season for the Eds - we lost 1 - 4 to Merton 2 years ago in our first game.

Under their new captain Jackie Joyce the ladies ran out comfortable winners so well done the ladies.

The perennial problem of subs is upon us so please make sure you pay your subs as quickly as you can to assist in the cash flow as the club has committed a great deal of expense over the last few months that now needs to be met.

Until next week

Knappy.
