Jun 2009 Work to the car park including the rebuilding of the groundsman shed will improve drainage and increase capacity by approximately 30 vehicles. There will be a new log-burning stove replacing the old gas fire in the clubroom.
Aug 2008 All work to the changing rooms and shower facilities now completed,
Oct 2007 Funding has been agreed which will enable the changing rooms and showers renovated over the coming few months.
Sep 2007 A ten-year contract has been signed with University College London for them to use the astroturf on Wednesdays and Sundays.
Jun 2007 More than £200,000 has been spent on relaying the carpet on the Astroturf as well as installing new drainage and improving the surrounds, including tarmacing the area in front of the grandstand as carpeting the path from the clubhouse to the pitch.
Mar 2007 The bar area has undergone a major refurbishment which has seen the bar itself reduced in size to make the capacity in the main bar greater. A new 42 plasma TV will make watching sporting events that much easier.
Feb 2007 New mens toilets have been built in the corridor leading into the club.
Dec 2006 - There will be improvements carried out to the clubhouse at TD in the coming weeks. Ed and Alison Breton will be looking to relocate the main mens toilets so that they are outside the changing-rooms and situated where the disabled facilities now are and will expanded to take some of the kitchen area. This is being done with financial assistance from the RFU. The bar area will also be altered, with the bar being reduced in length by about a third, providing more seating/standing space at the far end. We are also talking to several contractors about the drainage in the car park as this is a major factor in the regular flooding of the astroturf and the mud which blights the near corner.
Jan 2005 - The new lease on the telephone mast has now been signed by O2 and they are planning a small increase to the height of the pylon and increase of the siet area footprint by another say 12 feet on the side away from the clubhouse. They undertake that their contractors will make every effort to avoid damage, partic that they will lay tracking if heavy equipment needs to cross the grass area, and plant similar shrubbery round the extended site fencing. This has all been approved by Elmbridge Council.
Dec 2004 - The Annual General Meeting of the club took place at TD. Anthony Fay was re-elected chairman of the Sports Club and Jock Vickers elected as Hon Secretary.
Oct 2004 - The netball court at the far end of the car park has now been finished, laregly thanks to the efforts of Jock Vickers. The OC Netball club will be hosting home games there.
Sep 2004 - The day-to-day management of the OC Sports Club passed to Ed Breton of Breton Fitness Management. He will be responsible for all aspects of the club and the OC Society's role will be restricted to liaising with him. Ed plans to make much-needed investment and has other exciting ideas to make TD appealing to OCs and non-OCs alike.
Apr 2004 - In the coming months the second part of the renovation programme will be undertaken. Work scheduled includes replacing the windows in home and away showers, finishing the overhaul of the lighting inside the clubhouse, several thousand pounds on pitch renovations and an extension to the car park.
Dec 2003 - The recent appeal for funds raised the remarkable sum of £4300. This will be used to make good vital remedial work inside the club, as well as starting to make the fabric of the club more acceptable. Already over £2000 has been spent bringing the club up to Health & Safety standards.
