Clubs that rely on volunteer officers for their functioning need men like Mez. In his current guise as club treasurer he has his work cut out in squeezing and cajoling the clubs finances into spreadsheet form (the form of data presentation he feels most comfortable with) so as to make them not look disasterous. He does this by using columns, colours and decimal points so as to make it virtually impossible for the untrained eye to work out what it is being told. It is a perfect tactic for the job.

On the field, Spreadsheet will try his hand at every facet of the game. In recent years, in response to a club-wide lack of wicketkeepers, he has diligently taught himself how to keep and he now does a very passable job.

He can score runs too and, when he gets his eye in, hits a long ball. However, too often he goes for the big chow mein early on in his innings and loses a stump as his head falls over to off. This results in steaming, red faced anger and Mez's team-mates know to vacate the dressing room when he arrives back.

Spreaders plays an invaluable role organising tours and social events as well as his playing and treasurer roles. He is a popular team member.
