Ed Henderson

Ed has been an integral part of the OCCC new-ball attack since he left school and is one of the few Cranleighans in the last two decades who has the fitness and enthusiasm to bowl long spells regardless of conditions. A talented swing bowler, he spent most of his OCCC career to date claiming he is actually an allrounder. This boast was quashed when he was bowled first ball in the Brewers Cup final in 2006. It is a sign of Ed's belief in himself that he later claimed he heard the umpire call no-ball well before he played down completely the wrong line. In almost a decade after leaving Cranleigh, he is believed to have circumnavigated the world more times than the total number of months he had been in gainful employment. He realised the need to get a job after spending six months working for Rick Johnson and is now "something in the City". Ed is no longer the shy and retiring prep-school boy many hoped he would remain and his quiet and seemingly dignified exterior belies the many childish pranks and wind-ups he thrives on.
